A lecture series for biohackers / Announcing the start of BioHack Academy 5

BioHack Academy, the lecture series that opens the doors to the practice of biotechnology - from the perspectives of both Fab and bio, provided by the Waag Society from Amsterdam - is an annual lecture series which will again be held at BioClub this year.

BHA is an academic course for people who want to utilize bioscience and biotechnology to inspire and stimulate their own creativity, targeting a diverse range of people, and not limited to traditional scientific fields. Already held in 8 different countries up to now, it is continuing to grow and develop as a bioscience platform. Just as Fab has transformed consumers into creators, we believe that the fields of bioscience and biotechnology - which have supported the roots of human society, including the fields of medicine, farming, fibers, and energy - will become vital from a creative perspective in the future. Let's break out of the laboratories, and biohack to our hearts' content!

<About the BioHack Academy (BHA)>
A hands-on course of lectures about biotechnology over the course of 10 weeks. Provided by the Waag Society in the Netherlands, students can learn the basics for how to "design, build, use, and share their very own bio lab." The course includes:
• Education on the basics of biology and biohacking
• Students will learn how to build equipment for use in bio experiments (clean bench, centrifuge, PCR equipment, etc.) and how to use them
• Conduct experiments using microorganisms (cultivating bacteria, genetic transformation of bacteria, genome engineering technology, experiments using CRISPR, etc.)
• Students will integrate these techniques into their own personal projects, and announce the results
